Overview

About Chemical Peels

Chemical peels use a controlled blend of exfoliating acids to remove damaged surface cells and stimulate fresh, healthy skin underneath. At AMMA Aesthetics, we offer a range of medical-grade peels — including the popular VI Peel — customized to your skin type and concerns.

The VI Peel is a medical-grade, medium-depth peel that combines a synergistic blend of TCA, retinol, salicylic acid, phenol, and vitamin C to exfoliate damaged skin and reveal a more radiant complexion. It's safe for all skin types, including Fitzpatrick types IV–VI, while the VI Peel Precision Plus adds boosters that specifically target melasma and stubborn hyperpigmentation.

Peels are one of the most effective ways to address hyperpigmentation, sun damage, acne, and uneven texture. Depending on the depth, you'll enjoy brighter, smoother skin with little to moderate downtime. Chemical peels are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for clients who have used isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past six months.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a chemical peel cost in Miami?
The Micropeel by SkinCeuticals is $150, and VI Peel treatments (Original, Purify, Precision Plus, and Advance) are $350 each. VI Peel Body treatments range from $350 to $550. We offer packages of 3, and a monthly peel option is included with AMMA memberships.
What is a VI Peel?
The VI Peel is a medical-grade, medium-depth chemical peel that combines TCA, retinol, salicylic acid, phenol, and vitamin C. It's safe for all skin types, requires no pre-conditioning, and effectively treats fine lines, acne scars, sun damage, melasma, and uneven texture.
How much downtime is there with a chemical peel?
It depends on the peel's depth. Light peels have little to no downtime, while medium peels like the VI Peel involve a few days of flaking and peeling.
Do chemical peels hurt?
Most patients feel a mild tingling or warmth during application. The sensation is temporary and well tolerated.
What does a VI Peel treat?
The VI Peel is excellent for hyperpigmentation, melasma, sun damage, acne, and overall tone and texture, and is safe for most skin types.
How often can I get a peel?
Light peels can be done monthly, while medium-depth peels are typically spaced several weeks to months apart. We'll create a schedule for your goals.
Can peels treat melasma?
Yes. Certain medical-grade peels can help reduce melasma and hyperpigmentation, often as part of a broader treatment plan with proper sun protection. The VI Peel Precision Plus is specifically designed to target melasma and stubborn hyperpigmentation.
Is a chemical peel safe for darker skin?
Many peels are safe for darker skin tones when properly selected. The VI Peel was specifically formulated to be safe for all skin types, including Fitzpatrick types IV–VI. We'll choose a formulation appropriate for your skin during your consultation.
What should I avoid before a chemical peel?
Discontinue retinoids and exfoliating acids 5–7 days before your appointment. Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning for 2 weeks prior. Do not wax or use depilatory creams on the treatment area, and arrive with clean, product-free skin. Chemical peels are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have used Accutane within the past six months.
What areas of Miami do you serve?
We welcome clients from Coral Gables, Kendall, Pinecrest, Dadeland, South Miami, The Falls, Coconut Grove, Brickell, and Key Biscayne.
